Rule adjustment suggestion
Rule adjustment suggestion
Didn’t know where to post, hope this is okay.
I’d like to propose a rule adjustment (I’ll figure out precise wording later if generally agreed) that would result in allowing “solo” nightfall missions that require a hero. The hero would need to be visibly equipped with no skills and flagged at the start of the mission and (obviously) not interfere with the run in any way.
This would only apply for solo records, as 2+ party sizes would be confusing with their hero counterparts.
Just like if a solo beat a duo+ in any other category, a true solo run can knock off a solo+hero run if the time is tied or beat.
Hoping this can (if implemented properly) only add a few more fun possibilities into the mix for solo players that may enjoy a slightly new challenge without the cancer hero microing. But if there is something I am missing please let me know!

I would also like this
Also would be interested in a similar rule for solo deep (where heroes are used only for pads), but that's a bit more nuanced.

Re: Rule adjustment suggestion
can already just post a run in "other records" and make a table there without changing any rules
having to bring the 1 hero in nf missions is cancer but it's part of the challenge

Re: Rule adjustment suggestion
Absolutely agree with the fact there is nothing to stop people running now
Not sure I agree why the log of these runs needs to be in "other runs" though. Im not saying that microing the hero isnt part of the challenge - hence why I wouldn't touch the 2man+ records. This is just purely about adding an additional category for people to compete in.

Re: Rule adjustment suggestion
urgoz solo (+1hero) is also found in "other record" instead of the elite area category
similarly this would be classed as a sub-category of mission record; being a self-imposed ruleset/constraint versus what the game is naturally allowing you to use
i think its a cool idea but to me the NF mission tables should stay as they are , just my opinion on it

Re: Rule adjustment suggestion
If a solo could knock off a duo (player + hero) then by that logic a player duo (player + player) would knock off a duo (player + hero) which seems unfair to me.
Personally I like the gimmick of player + hero necessity in NF missions records but I wouldn't be against a NF mission subcategory for mission/bonus of having a hero that isn't involved in anything, but it shouldn't compete directly with the existing records imo for the reason above.

Re: Rule adjustment suggestion
this is why i said it would only be applicable for solo
but it seems a separate category is the way to go in the other records section. For some reason, this demotivates me a little to run for them sadly but thats my problem xD

Re: Rule adjustment suggestion
Thing is you can basically do this with slow loading anyway so using a useless hero just makes it more accessible. So imo you might as we well make it a subcategory on missions table but for all party sizes, I don't see any reason it should be limited to just solo anyway.
