Without the age requirement, it is trivial to run a dungeon a bunch of times and stitch together the best run you do of each level.

So apparently two of the people that were in favor of second based records are now in favor of second based records too, which is everything but surprising. Also there was no huge outcry, no gigantic wave of support (and yes, I acknowledge this might be because people dont feel like expressing the same thing repeatedly or think nothing will change anyways) or anything like that.

I personally dont see what changed since the last time this was discussed (or the one before, or the one before that).

Yes, it might be possible to get a semi-plausible ruling going at the sake of backwards compatibility and higher effort for everyone involved, but that does not seem like a good tradeoff. Once Anet actually implements some more detailed ingame-timer, I think the sentiment towards this would change quickly. But at the moment, this would just end up being the same discussion as the last time(s).

True. It was warranted then, and still is. Are there any actual arguments against this besides that it's more work for mods or that people don't want to see their old records beaten?

I don't recall being vocally supportive of it last time around. Unlike last time, NOBODY has said they're strongly against it - the only opposition is from you, Flo. Your arguments seem to have been satisfactorily addressed. Unless you know of somebody else who's holding back and is about to share their strong feelings, go ahead and implement this already.

This thread is totally visible to anyone who cares to make an input. I originally brought it up on Discord, so all active players at least have the opportunity to be aware. Should I post it on pornhub to get more attention? Seriously, I'd welcome a lively debate, but I believe people are being silent because the intelligent points have already been made. Do we need to get a few dozen people just posting "+1" before we can add a new table?
