Lololol. Not basically...that's exactly what I think. The community can't change the games of the rules. You can't go killing people and then tell the judge it's okay because your group of friends agreed it being ok.

Rules made by this side are made by the community, and so the validity of a record is decided by it, Anet can't deny a record.
Gamerules are made by Anet, they decide weither they ban or not, here the community can't do shit.
The user decides in the end how he plays the game, but he is the one taking the consequences.

Uhm yes you can. Most records in the all-time table used the ress scroll glitch in order to be faster, which was later fixed by a-net, and people were even banned for abusing it for farming. Res scroll glitching was technically "bug abusing", which is a bannable offense, but the rules of this forums were always something like "whatever is possible ingame without a 3rd party tool is ok, even if aided by 3rd party tool"

You talk validity of a record. If it's against the rules of the game, how can it ever be valid? You're turning things around probaly because you use toolbox yourself and are trying to justify it.
